Revolutionary Mast Design

The unique design of Rail Industry Construction’s tilt mast signal revolutionises how signal* maintenance tasks are carried out. By engineering a signal mast that lowers the signal head to the maintenance crew, all dangers associated with working at height are instantly removed. Instead, work can be carried out at ground level in a safe and ergonomically friendly manner.

The tilt mast signal requires no counterweights, has no pinch points and can be operated by a single person using a simply battery drill. Repositioning the signal mast from vertical to horizontal takes around half a minute and it’s the only tilt mast signal on the market that can incorporate bi-directional signalling at heights from 2 to 6.3 metres.

Setting New Industry Standards

Rail Industry Constructions have become the first Australian company to export a tilt mast signal to North America. Calgary Mass Transit have installed RIC tilt mast signals in their rail network as part of a trial preceding approval and endorsement across the network. This followed a global search for tilt mast signals, with the RIC tilt mast signal outperforming all other competitors to be chosen for the trial. Initial feedback from Calgary Mass Transit engineering and maintenance staff has been incredibly positive.
